Stewardship of Natural Resources and Cultural
Heritage
The International Stewardship Program of
QLF Atlantic Center for the
Environment works with
conservation and rural development
practitioners to develop new strategies for
conservation of natural and cultural heritage.
Hundreds of professionals and leaders
from
across the
hemisphere have participated in our
fellowships, workshops, peer exchanges and
community problem-solving exercises, joining
a growing cadre of practitioners concerned
with stewardship. As a US/Canadian
organization, QLF Atlantic Center for the
Environment is international by nature. For
25 years our International Program has
worked in partnership with local NGOs in
support of conservation and sustainability.
Currently, we focus particular attention on
the Caribbean, Latin America, and Europe,
particularly Central and Southeastern
Europe.
These
International Programs draw on our
experience in our own Atlantic Region (New
England and eastern Canada), our staff’s
in-country experience in our target regions,
and a broad, informal network of partner
organizations.
Exchange works both
ways. We believe that by helping others—and
learning how they cope with change, perceive
problems, understand our circumstances, and
operate with limited resources—we learn not only
about them but about ourselves.
