IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) promotes the establishment and effective management of a worldwide representative network of terrestrial and marine protected areas. Members: 1300.

The Conservation Study Institute's mission is to create new opportunities for dialogue, inquiry and lifelong learning to enhance the stewardship of our landscapes and communities. QLF is a partner in the Institute with the National Park Service, University of Vermont, and Shelburne Farms.

The George Wright Society is a nongovernmental organization dedicated to the protection, preservation, and management of cultural and natural parks and reserves through research and education.

The Environmental Partnership is a consortium of six foundations in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia that are focused on mobilizing and empowering the people of the region to improve their environment, their local communities and societies.

Rubicon Foundation focuses on identifying and promoting solutions for land stewardship and sustainable rural development enhancing biodiversity conservation, working with local people and organizations in order to share with them the best practices in this field and to enable them to partake actively in reversing ecological problems in their country.

Nadace Partnerstvi is the Czech member of the Environmental Partnership for Central Europe. Their mission is to promote an environmentally sustainable civil society by assisting community-based and national non-profit and public efforts as well as cross-sectoral cooperation.

The Dél-Nyírség Bihari Landscape Protection Society is an environmental Non-Governmental Organization in Debrecen dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Nyírség and Bihar region, located in Hajdú-Bihar County between Debrecen and the Roumanian border.

Montenegro

The Center for the Protection and Research of Birds of Montenegro monitors populations, protects habitats and promotes appreciation of birds.

EXPEDITIO is a non-government and non-profit association whose mission is encouraging sustainable space development as well as enhancing urban and rural areas in Montenegro and region, through activity in the fields of architecture, urban planning, town planning, environmental protection, and public advocacy.

The One Europe More Nature Project focuses on the Maramures region of northwest Romania, near the Ukraine border, a rural region with rich cultural heritage linked to nature of the norther Carpathian Mountains.

Serbia

Zelena Mreza Vojvodina (Green Network of Vojvodina) promotes and supports environmental protection and sustainable development on local, regional, national and international level. We also promote tolerance and democracy with the aim of peaceful settlement of conflicts. Vojvodina is the northernmost province of Serbia.

Slovakia

Nadácia Ekopolis is the Slovak member of the Environmental Partnership Consortium.

A-Projekt links people of mountainous areas for the wise use of their resources.

Spain

The Xarxa de Custòdia del Territori (Land Stewardship Network), is an umbrella organization of foundations, associations, town councils, public partnership (consortium) protected areas, research centres, and organisations alike. The XCT promotes the use of land stewardship as a strategy to conserve natural, cultural and landscape values of the land. It assists the work of land trusts, communicates stewardship to the general and specific public, works with public and private stakeholders to develop its use and carries out research and pilot projects in the LS field.

The Fundació Territori i Paisatge (Landscape and Countryside Foundation), a social foundation of Caixa Catalunya, has the main aims of co-operating in the preservation of natural heritage and landscape and creating awareness among the population of the need to protect the environment.

The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment is a non-governmental organization that foster community participation in resource management and sustainable use of ecosystems within the Maya Mountain Marine Corridor of southern Belize.

Since its formation in 1969 Belize Audubon Society has been Belize's foremost environmental organization protecting Belize's precious natural resources while educating the public about their value and sustainable use

Bolivia

The mission of SAVIA, an NGO founded by Bolivian professionals, is to contribute to sustainable development through integrated natural resource management. SAVIA works with diverse communities in rural areas of Bolivia to contribute to improved quality of life and strengthening of local capacity for management and sustainable use of natural resources as a sound basis for rural development.

Associação Mico-Leão-Dourado (Golden Lion Tamarin Association) works to conserve the biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest, focusing on the protection of the golden lion tamarin in its natural habitat.

Colombia

The Fundación Humedales (Wetlands Foundation) is a nonprofit organization developing activities for the conservation and management of ecosystems and their associated resources, with a special interest in Colombian wetlands.

Costa Rica

Alumnus Walter Odio created Rancho La Merced National Wildlife Refuge, a private protected area, and was instrumental in establishing Ballena Marine National Park

Ecuador

EcoCiencia works with diverse communities in Ecuador to raise public awareness of natural resource issues, engage communities in developing management plans for surrounding lands, and strengthen the capacity of local governments.

Peru

The Mountain Institute (TMI) is an international organization with a mission to advance mountain cultures and preserve mountain environments, The Mountain Institute-Peru is directed and staffed by Peruvians, is based in Huaraz and Lima, and works in partnership with local communities on initiatives aimed at promoting citizen participation in ecosystem conservation and mountain cultures.
